How to Make Elf Donuts with Cheerios! I’m sure you always leave cookies out for Santa on Christmas Eve, but what about his Elves? They love a special treat too! We make cookies for Santa but we shouldn’t forget to leave a tray of these out for his helpers. This is also a perfect idea for your Elf on the Shelf too!

It’s no secret that we talk about the magic of Christmas a lot here at Smart School House. I shared the super secret recipe that Santa gave me for Reindeer Food (you can see it here) and we even discussed Santa’s Magic Key (see that here). This is a creative idea for kids and grown-ups! this Christmas! We adore these mini donuts for elves.

Supplies
- Cheerios
- Sprinkles
- Powdered Sugar
- Cocoa powder
- Damp paper towel
- Water
- toothpicks
- Christmas music <— that is optional but highly recommended when making Elf Donuts:)
Instructions
For the chocolate sprinkled donuts:
- Mix cocoa powder and a little bit of water until it is just a little bit thick (easy for dipping).
- Dip a Cheerio into the cocoa powder mixture
- Dip the Cheerio into sprinkles
- Use a toothpick to clear the center of the “donut”
- Let dry
For the powdered donuts:
- Press a Cheerio into a damp paper towel (this makes the cereal sticky)
- Dip the Cheerio into powdered sugar
- Use a toothpick to clear the center of the “donut”
- Let dry
