Smart School House Office

Welcome to the NEW Smart School House Office! I’m so excited, honored, and proud to welcome you:)

Smart School House started back in 2012. At the time, I was working at my small computer in our master bedroom. Throughout the years, my “office” space changed with our 5 relocations, making it feel impossible for me to really settle into a genuine workspace.

Until now! (whisper voice: they’re paper flowers)

If you’ve followed my blog recently, then you might know that we purchased our latest home just over a year ago. This home was in wonderful condition and always loved. But, it is 20 years old and was ready for some updating! Our most recent update was this bathroom (you should REALLY see that here). Ironically, that bathroom remodel impacted the room that eventually turned into my office. During that bathroom renovation, this extra bedroom collected random stuff, a lot of which happened to be things we would normally have in a bathroom. One thing led to another and eventually, this room was landing spot for junk.

Here’s what you would see if you walked into this space before:

Here’s what it looks like now:

It’s fresh, bright, CLEAN, and completely functional.

But now it is organized and epitomizes Smart School House:

I have a little sitting space, a little side table that holds a few copies of my book (info. about my book here) and, of course, a rose rug:

I’ve never really mentioned it before, but I have a thing for roses. Particularly white roses (which I included A LOT of in my office)

like here:

and even here under my computer screen:

In addition to white roses, I also love, love, LOVE the color pink…

…and hearts

…and here’s the Smart School House office now:

I got a standing desk, which means that it will lift up so that I can work while standing (apparently it’s better for productivity and health). This place customized it for me with white and gold. LOVE!

I also had a custom wood sign made for my blog’s logo… and she did a perfect job! If you want a custom sign made, I think this place is perfect!

Plus, the gorgeous PAPER flowers!

HERE is where I purchased these stunning paper flowers.

The dresser that was seen in the before pics made the cut and has a special spot in my office. It currently holds the various linens and props that I use for all of my photoshoots. Check out what I’ve been up to HERE!

Just a couple more “after” pictures that make my heart sing:

My kids enjoy flipping the timer at any given chance:)

And here is where I display some of my features:

Smart School House Wall Street Journal

That dresser has a few of the magazines I’ve been in (I went ahead and framed them just for fun) and above the dresser is The Wall Street Journal. I was featured in a front page article in February of 2017. They really loved this project and that’s what my Wall Street Journal interview was for.

Anyways, thank you for visitng me in my office today! This is the place where I do SO much of my blogging: editing photos, Facebook posts, Pinterest pins, Instagram pictures, etc. etc. etc.

I loved having you and I hope you come back again soon!

xoxo,

Kelly
