ThankList

ThankList

The holiday season is a wonderful time to pause and express gratitude. Sometimes, gratitude can be hard to show. Today I’m sharing our ThankList! It is an easy way to spread the feeling of gratitude to those around you (and hopefully inspire others to do the same!). It feels wonderful to know you are appreciated. It feels even better when someone shows that they are grateful for you. But, the best feeling of all comes from showing someone else that you are grateful for them. A ThankList is similar to a bucket list. A bucket list is comprised of a certain number of activities that you would like to experience or accomplish within a time frame. A ThankList is a list of people that you would like to thank, or show gratitude towards. A ThankList can be a list you make on your own, or it can be a list that people compose together. This time, our ThankList is created by surprising various people and then encouraging them to do the same. It helps encourage others to show their gratitude with a simple surprise and a super kind gesture. I decided to create a little ThankList gift package with just a few supplies. Print out the ThankList poem and attach it to the front of a wooden box filled with flowers. Then, write down the name of the person you are thankful for and put the note inside of a glass bottle. Everyone loves a beautiful arrangement of fresh flowers and this project is a simple and easy way express your gratitude for someone special in your life. Hand the person the bouquet box or secretly leave it in a spot where you know they will find it! Supplies:

        • Wooden box

        • Flowers

        • Glass bottle

Be sure to snap a photo of your ThankList and tag the people you are thankful for on Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram using the hashtag #ThankList. One kind thought can spark several thoughts of gratitude in others! Who are you looking forward to tagging with the hashtag #ThankList? Your best friend, your parents, a teacher? Just think of how special they will feel. The hope is that they continue the kind gestures by thanking people they are grateful for in their lives.   You could pass along small gifts, but you don’t have to. Showing gratitude doesn’t need to cost any money at all. However, if you have a little something special in mind that you know will make your recipient feel really happy, then go for it! Bake some cookies, frame a photo of you guys together, or bring them their favorite coffee drink. The most impactful part is that the person sees that you wrote their name down on the ThankList. We all love feeling loved!
