Writing Practice Worksheet for Preschool or Kindergarten

School is literally right around the corner and we’ve started sharpening our skills again! Summer is the season of fun and relaxation. Oftentimes, handwriting skills, reading skills, and math skills slip because we are no longer reading and writing every single day. Today’s activity is about getting ready for kindergarten and celebrating handwriting! I want my children AND your children (or students) to reach their potential and sharpen their skills again for the new school year. With BIC, and their super fun writing tools, we are helping give away a $1,200 prize pack to help motivate and encourage young writers!

Did you know that writing and even doodling helps reading skills? Preschool and kindergarten doodling is important for successful writing skills in the future. When we encourage our little ones to scribble or learn their letters, we’re helping to instill positive habits and feelings about writing. Writing helps children and adults express their creativity and their voice. Handwriting is an essential tool for learning and growth. Writing is awesome!

I often find fun pens and pencils for my kids to doodle and write with. Since Stella is entering Kindergarten, it is important for her to not only have a fun pencil, but one that is easy to use. For her doodling, she loves pens with bright colors and cool abilities (like a pen that can be used with 4 different colors). Today I had her practice her letters with a pencil, but for fun (since we’re not turning in for homework quite yet) I let her doodle her name with the BIC pen she’s been dying to use. Creating excitement for writing is essential both inside and outside of the classroom. Go ahead- let your kids have the cool pens and pencils! They will use them if they’re more excited about them… and that’s our goal after all!
