I know that you can melt chocolate the fancy way, but my favorite way is to use these Dove chocolates. I don’t know how I found out that they melt so easily, but at some point in time I discovered that they do and it’s changed the way I melt chocolate. Using a plastic or microwave-safe container and Dove chocolate, you can make the BEST melted chocolate ever! Dark chocolate, milk chocolate, whatever you prefer.

I got this bag in the candy aisle at Walmart for about $3.50. For this recipe, you will need the entire bag.

Equipment

  • Microwave safe bowl
  • Spoon
  • Ice cube tray

Ingredients

  • Strawberries
  • 1 bag of Dove chocolates (or any kind of chocolate you like!)

Instructions

  • Cut the strawberries into pieces that will fit into an ice cube tray
  • Fill each slot of the ice cube tray with a strawberry or a slice of strawberry
  • Melt the chocolate. For us, we melted 1/2 the bag at a time in a microwave safe bow in 30 second intervals
  • Pour the melted chocolate over the ice cube tray
  • Gently tap the ice cube tray on the counter to “settle” the chocolate over the strawberries
  • Refrigerate for 1 hour
  • Remove from the refrigerator and crack the tray, bending it side to side in opposite directions, just as you would regular ice cubes
  • Pull the chocolate covered strawberries out from the ice cube tray (or gently dump them out)
  • Store in a ziplock bag or air tight container
