Peeps Rice Krispie Treats are Ordinary Rice Krispy Treats With a Colorful Twist! Instead of Marshmallows, they’re made with Peeps for a beautiful, colorful Easter treat! Not only that, they’re EASIER to make than traditional Rice Krispies treats, which the mom in me loves (less clean up!).

Peeps Rice Krispies Treats

Peeps Rice Krispies Treats are unsurprisingly similar to traditional Krispies treats, yet, more festive and WAY more exciting for kids. This is probably a dream treat for kids. While the video went viral, there were a few “peeps” not enjoying my 10 year old’s manicure while making these (as seen here). I responded, I have no further comment, and YOUR amazing responses have helped her feel so much better. Thank you!

First things first, use a disposable 9″x13″ aluminum pan if you have one. What we love about these baking pans is that they are disposable. This sweet Easter treat is made in ONE dish! Even if you use a non-disposable dish, these Rice Krispies treats are the easiest… Ever! Check out our TikTok Video to see how we made them:

Peeps Rice Krispies Treats Recipe

Pour 4 cups of Rice Krispies over 20 colorful Easter Peeps in a baking dish prepared with non-stick spray. They’re pretty much done from here LOL! Well, add 6 tablespoons of butter sliced thin throughout the dish.

Bake at 375° for just 8 minutes and then spread the ooey-gooey Peeps throughout the buttered Rice Krispie mixture. Kids are REALLY good at doing this job:) Because they bake so quickly, this is a great recipe for kids to do. Nothing is scorching hot and upper grade/teenage kids are 100% capable of handling this recipe.

We tend to push the cooked Peeps Rice Krispies slightly to the side of the baking dish while forming them once being removed from the oven. This is TOTALLY optional. You can press them evenly along each side or make them a bit thicker… there’s no wrong way to do this. Let them cool a little, cut, and enjoy!!!

  1. I followed the recipe step by step exactly. I was very disappointed as the peeps did not melt and the rice crispy cereal was dry as if it just came out of the box.
    So so so disappointed.

    1. Did you attempt to bake them a little longer? The Peeps have to be hot enough to melt and then the Rice Krispies will stick together:)

  2. I looked at a few different variations of Peeps RKTs, and settled on yours. I am glad that I did. I left the mixture in the oven for 8 minutes, and the peeps were hot enough to mix in with the rice krispies very easily. Plus, using a disposable pan, and a well-buttered spatula, made clean-up a breeze. This will be how I make RKTs from now on, whether I use Peeps or regular marshmallows. Thanks.
