Hanging Galvanized Tub Planter
I have been seeing this idea of a DIY hanging galvanized tub planter floating around the internet for a few years and I’ve always wanted to try it! Spring is my favorite season because of all the beautiful flowers blooming. I love to garden and decorate with flowers around my house.
What I love most about this easy DIY garden decor idea is that you can use real flowers or silk flowers (I don’t judge!). Because it’s still winter and we’ll be getting some cold days over the next couple of months, I decided to try this project out for the first time using silk flowers.
I LOVE how it turned out! The pinks and purples will be perfect for Valentine’s Day and all through spring.
How to make a Hanging Galvanized Bucket Planter
Supplies:
- Shepard’s hook
- Circular galvanized bucket with handles
- If you’re using real flowers, you will need potting soil and a drill to make small drainage holes in the bucket
- For silk flowers, you’ll want some floral foam to help keep the flowers in place
It’s so colorful along with the rest of the real flowers outside of the window.
Directions
- Drill small drainage holes in the tub where the soil will be or place floral foam where the flowers will be
- Push the Shepard’s hook into the ground and make sure it is straight and secure
- Hang the galvanized tub using by the handle
- Plant small flowers and water regularly or arrange silk flowers in the foam
I love a simple and beautiful DIY garden decoration. Wouldn’t this look neat with succulents too? I just might have to make another one!
