It’s been about 2 months since we moved and I’m happy to say that, for the most part, I’m back to work! Running this blog, Smart School House, is my full time job but I’m also a full time stay at home mom. While having two full time jobs is challenging, there are little things we rely on that make it more manageable. Take Wi-Fi for example. Working from home at our new house was only possible once my office was set up and the internet was up and running. Our biggest challenge in terms of Wi-Fi in our new house was that we doubled our square footage with this new home! We knew we needed to maximize our Wi-Fi range right away by turning the house into a smart home.

When we moved in, we noticed dead spots where our Wi-Fi signal was either extremely weak or didn’t work at all. Because I work entirely from home and rely 100% on the internet, I can’t risk having unreliable Wi-Fi! I also can’t stand unattractive internet devices plugged in everywhere. Can you even spy our Wi-Fi router on the mantle? Nope! It fits right in with the rest of the decor.

Making Our New House a Smart Home

Like most families, we have several devices between the 4 of us. We each have a desktop computer, we each have a laptop, 2 cell phones, and various tablet devices. We also have a gaming system upstairs in the kids’ media room. Simply put, we are a family who utilizes technology and we need a smart home to support that!

Our new Linksys Velop Whole Home WiFi is an absolute necessity for us. It replaces the single Wi-Fi router with smaller “nodes” that we placed around our home. This helps eliminate dead spots and lets the signal reach upstairs, around walls, and even outside! Did I mention we moved to a golf course with a really amazing indoor/outdoor living area? Oh yes! We spend A LOT of time outside and it’s become one of my most favorite spots to work.

With the Linksys Velop Whole Home WiFi System, I can work in areas that used to have dead spots because the Wi-Fi is now strong and reliable, no matter how many devices we have connected at once. Walmart carries the latest and greatest smart home tech devices! The Linksys is so simple to set up and it’s a great value at $149 for a 2 pack. All smart home products sold at Walmart work with Google Assistant-enabled devices.
