Happy Summer! Here at Smart School House we are just starting to dip our toes into summertime. So many kids are on on summer break but we still have a couple weeks left. In excitement for the 4th of July, we set up our backyard with some red, white, and blue table decorations on a budget!

Red, White, and Blue Table Decorations

We recently moved to a new house on a golf course and we’ve been enjoying our backyard more than ever before. It’s so calm and fun all at the same time! Our patio table has wood look tiles and a white boarder. If you know me, I love white furniture and decor! Especially when it’s got a bit of a rustic look to it.

For our 4th of July centerpiece, I used a white box and turned it upside down to hold a glass lantern. In the lantern I added some lemons and fresh cut roses. In front is an embroidery hoop decoration that I’m just loving! It will work in the summer and it will also look great in the winter. There’s just something this embroidery hoop that adds a perfect rustic charm to the red, white, and blue table decorations.

It would be fun to make these along with these red, white, and blue decorations. They are festive but they are all easy to make as well. Check out these other 4th of July ideas by Smart School House:

On either side of our rustic summer centerpiece are 4th of July mason jars holding paper straws. Our red buffalo check placemats are from Hobby Lobby as well as the black and white buffalo check napkins. I used red and white twine to tie the utensils onto the napkin.

Here are some other summer decorations and centerpieces we’ve made that we think you might like!

My favorite part of the red, white, and blue decorations are the cast iron skillets. I feel like these small skillets are fun to use as plates for summer food like BBQ hot dogs and hamburgers. The dark color of the cast iron skillet plates is a great contrast mixed with the white eucalyptus vases. Add a pretty wildflower on top and it adds a little softness to everything.
