Isn’t this the prettiest milkshake you’ve seen lately? Do you think your kids would love this sweet treat? Mine sure did! It’s so pretty and, yet, so easy to make. What compliments a sweet milkshake? More sugar of course! Sugar coated cookies are the divine addition to a perfectly fun milkshake masterpiece! It’s a colorful, decadent, fluffy treat for all to enjoy.

How to Make a Circus Animal Cookie Milkshake. WOW!

The weather is already pretty warm here in this part of California. The fruit trees outside are blooming with flowers, the garden is aching to be made over with fresh new veggies, and our sidewalks are covered in chalk. Playing outside with my kids on a sunny afternoon is one of my favorite things to do. They aren’t in school quite yet, so we have a lot of time to kill under the warm sun (tough life, I know!). We had worked up a little appetite and I thought it was time to do something fun. My mom was one of theeeee best milkshake makers in the world (fact). So, I hurried inside to create a special surprise for Stella & Mitch.

How did I get the sprinkles to stick to the sides of the cup? I used corn syrup! Lightly (very lightly because this stuff is extremely sticky), brush a bit along the inside of the cup. Then, take your rainbow sprinkles and pour them over the thin layer of corn syrup and they will stick like magic!

I did this same process for our 4th of July Milkshake (you cam see the whole process here)

Next, blend up a creamy cookie milkshake. The amount of ice cream, milk, and cookies you will use depends on how many people you plan on serving. I was making two small-ish milkshakes, so I used about 4 scoops of vanilla ice cream. I put the ice cream in the blender and then poured the milk on top until it was 1/2 way up to the top of the ice cream.

Finally, added WHITE circus animal cookies for every two scoops of ice cream. Why did I  just the white cookies and not the pink? Because I prefer to eat all of the pink cookies and I had none left <<< kidding! Actually, if you stick with using just white sprinkled cookies, it will help your vanilla milkshake maintain a much prettier color. The pink cookies are cute, but they won’t look as pretty if you blend them up with a vanilla milkshake.

Don’t you love it? They taste like milkshake heaven and are the perfect afternoon treat on a hot day. Enjoy! Smile with your kids and make some sugartastic memories.

  • Corn syrup
  • 4 cups Vanilla ice cream
  • Rainbow Sprinkles

  • 2 cups of milk

Directions

  1. Using a clean brush (like a basting brush or new paint brush), brush the corn syrup along the sides of clear cups.
  2. Gently add sprinkles to the cup. The corn syrup will make the sprinkles stick like glue.
  3. In a blender, combine the milk, circus animal cookies, and ice cream and mix on medium speed.
  4. Add more ice cream or milk to achieve desired consistency.
  5. Pour the milkshake into the sprinkle cup.
  6. Top with whipped cream.
