How to Make Tissue Paper Flowers
Tissue Paper Flowers are simple, quick, and inexpensive. They can be gift, table decorations, or even a backdrop for an event or classroom! The color of tissue paper can change for any holiday, event, or purpose (think: birthday party, weddings, baby showers, bridal showers, etc).
Cut Tissue paper into rectangles. To make it easy, simply cut the large sheet of tissue paper in halves until you end up with rectangles that are about 8″ x 4″. They do not have to be that exact size.
Layer a stack of 6 pieces of rectangle tissue paper
Fold the stack of tissue paper accordion style (as seen in the video!). Fold it over about 1″, flip it, and repeat until it is all folded. It doesn’t have to be the exact size or perfect. Every flower is different and unique!
Staple the center of the folded tissue paper. If you want to add a stem to your paper flower, wrap a green pipe cleaner around the staple at this time.
Using scissors, cut the edges into rounded “petal” shapes. You can also cut different shapes to make different styles of flowers.
Gently pull each sheet of tissue paper up toward the staple and out of the accordion fold. I recommend alternating sides.
Continue to fluff the tissue paper petals until the flower forms! Each flower comes to life in a unique way making them all look beautifully unique.
