Notes

How to Thicken or Thin Buttercream Frosting
If your buttercream is too thin, gradually mix in additional powdered sugar, one tablespoon at a time.
If it is too thick, mix in additional cream or milk, one teaspoon at a time. Small additions are best because the consistency can change quickly.

How Much Frosting Does This Recipe Make?
This recipe makes approximately 1½ cups of frosting. It should provide enough buttercream to:
  • Frost one 8-inch square pan of brownies
  • Frost about 12 cupcakes
  • Lightly frost one 8-inch or 9-inch cake
  • Fill and decorate approximately 12 sandwich cookies
