How to Make Alfredo Sauce

Make homemade Alfredo sauce that is better than Olive Garden! Dinner is done in just 20 minutes! Pair this easy Alfredo sauce with any pasta for the BEST dinner the whole family will love!

Equipment

  • medium pot
  • wooden spoon or mixing spoon

Ingredients

  • ¾ of a 1 pound box of penne pasta, or any pasta you prefer. You can add the entire box of pasta if desired.
  • ½ cup butter
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 Tablespoon minced garlic
  • ½ cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper (to taste)
  • Optional: chopped parsley to garnish

Instructions

  • In one pot, boil the pasta according to the directions on the box (about 10-12 minutes)
  • In a separate pot, melt the stick of butter over medium-to low heat
  • Add garlic to the melted butter and cook for 2 minutes
  • Mix in heavy cream
  • Stir in room-temperature cream cheese
  • Continue to cook over medium-low heat until the creamy mixture gently bubbles (not boiling!)
  • Add in the parmesan mozzarella cheeses
  • Add salt and pepper to taste
  • Stir regularly until the cheeses are melted
  • Stir in drained/cooked pasta to the Alfredo sauce and enjoy! Sprinkle with chopped parsley (optional)
