Candy Cane Bows

How to make Candy Cane Bows by layering two candy canes in the shape of a bow and melting them into place. Peppermint candy bows are so cute!

Ingredients

  • Candy canes (Miniature-size candy canes are needed for the center of the large bow)
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 200℉
  • Line the baking sheet with parchment paper
  • Assemble the candy canes in the shape of a bow

  • Place the baking sheet in the oven for 10 minutes

  • While the candy canes are in the oven, break miniature candy canes in half (as shown)

  • Remove the baking sheet from the oven and gently bend and mold the soft candy canes into a bow shape.
    NOTE: If the candy canes cool and harden before you're done, place the baking sheet back in the oven for 10-minute intervals.
    Bend the candy canes to look like bows
  • Place the broken candy cane pieces in the center of the bow to make it look like they’re tied. Don’t worry if they don’t look perfect or move when you are assembling them. They will soften up in the oven and will become pliable for shaping.
  • Return the baking sheet to the oven for another 10 minutes.
  • Push the center “knot” together to create your desired shaped bow. Allow the bows to cool and harden.
    NOTE: If the candy canes cool and harden before you're done, place the baking sheet back in the oven for 10-minute intervals.

Notes

Note: the larger size bows are much more fragile than the smaller-shaped bows. Be extra cautions when touching/moving the larger bows.
If a bow breaks, consider returning it to the oven and molding it back in place.
