DIY Thanksgiving Banner
Well, Thanksgiving crafts have started here at Smart School House and I’m kicking off the season with this DIY Glitter Dipped Thanksgiving Banner! (Whisper voice: everything is better with glitterrrrrr).
This is quite possibly one of the easiest banners I’ve ever made! What is better than glitter? BOWS! I put bow on anything and everything possible!
The banner is made of a series of small triangle pieces of cardstock. I actually bought the triangles pre-cut from my craft store. I picked out Thanksgiving colors: brown, yellow, and orange. Then, I used similar colored glitter: silver, gold, and orange.
Next, I painted a little good old fashion Elmer’s white glue. Tip: make sure that your line of glue coordinates from triangle to triangle so that the glitter tips match. Next, pour on the glitter!
Allow the white glue to dry. Then, hot glue the top of each triangle to some brown grosgrain ribbon. This is where you will see the DIY banner come together!
Finally, hot glue a big bow to each end of your DIY banner. I actually used the same color ribbon, but my bows were made with thicker ribbon than the strand that the triangles were attached to.
Happy Thanksgiving!
I can’t wait to show you the other Thanksgiving crafts I have coming up!
my daughter and I are going to have so much fun making this
