Hey yโall I am Amy from the blogย A Blossoming Lifeย and Iโm excited to be here on Kellyโs blog sharing this simple craft.
I love DIY gifts! Especially making themโฆ Not only do people love them, but many times they are useful. Like this lip balmโฆ Confession, I’ve had a new recent obsessionโฆ lavender and peppermint. I’ve been making everything with these two essential oils. Seriously this last week I made lavender peppermint candles, hairspray, deodorant, and this lip balm. They are heavenly.
Peppermint Lavender Lip Balm
They smell is calming, and rejuvenating without being overpowering. Plus this DIY project is super easy! If you can mix the ingredients with a spoon than you can make it!
Peppermint Lavender Lip Balm Recipe
Ingredients:
- Approximately 15 lip balm tubes (I purchase mineย here), tins, or small containers you can purchase at Walmart in the travel section
- 2 tbsย bees waxย (grated and pressed into the measuring spoon)
- 2 tbsย shea butter
- 1 tbs plus 2 tsp coconut oil
- 1 tsp vitamin e
- 10-15 drops lavender essential oil
- 5 drops peppermint essential oil
Directions:
In a double boiler or very small sauce crockpot melt bees wax, shea butter, coconut oil, and wait a few minutes until everything melts. Once the ingredients have melted turn heat off and mix in 1 tsp vitamin e oil and essential oil. Place in tins or empty lip balm tubes (I like to use a medicine syringe) and let cool on the counter. I know it might be hard, but wait until completely cooled! Enjoy!
Wasn’t that easy? These also make a great stocking stuffer or just a little gift for everyone at the office! Nothing is better than DIY gifts you can actually use.
