Summer is the time when memories are made! With back-to-school school approaching, we’ve wanted to focus just on the fun of this short-lived season. We are making the most of summer by getting out there and enjoying the time that is left!

Making the Most of Summer

We moved into our new house in the spring, and we were incredibly surprised with how many kids live around us. Summertime before we lived here included a lot of structured activities, time inside watching TV, and getting a little bored. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s important for kids to get bored so that they have the opportunity to become creative, however, this new house makes their free time that much more fun.

Our doorbell starts ringing at 8:30 in the morning with kids asking, “Can Stella and Mitch play?” That is what summer is about! In a few weeks, all the kids will be sitting at their school desks by 8:30 in the morning. So, we are soaking up the fun and making the most of summer before school starts!

Instead of filling up my children’s summer days with camps, sports, and plans, I encourage Be Time, aka just let them be. I let them go outside, play with their toys and, most importantly, run around with their friends! It’s not surprising when the kids in the neighborhood find an empty cardboard box and spend hours turning it into something with their imagination. It’s incredible how simple, yet, how amazing playtime can be when children are given the opportunity to explore and discover. I’ve learned that my kids are really good at playing outside all day. This is what summers are made for!

In our new house we have a refrigerator in our garage. We call this the “kid fridge,” and it quickly became the snack refrigerator for all the kids in the neighborhood. Need a bottle of water? Go to Stella and Mitch’s kid fridge! Hungry? Grab a GoGo squeeZ from the kid fridge!

Enjoying the Spontaneous Moments of Life

GoGo squeeZ is definitely a kid-approved snack for all the children on the street. It’s a snack made from 100% fruit with no high fructose corn syrup, no added sugar, and is non-GMO.

What all the kids love most is that GoGo squeeZ is a delicious snack that keeps them going! This grab-and-go applesauce snack fuels them up so they can continue to play, explore, and just be kids.

On our new street, the kids literally play until the street lights come on. Even then, it’s hard to get them to come inside! I remember summer days like this when I was a kid, but I didn’t think the existed anymore. It turns out that they do, and kids are still really good at entertaining themselves when they are given the free time.

The evening ends with sleepy kids in flip flops and dirt on their knees. Playing all day takes a lot of energy, so that’s why we make sure they eat as best as they can and as healthy as they can. GoGo squeeZ comes in over 25 various flavors (my kids love the AppleApple and Apple Cinnamon). Because it has no artificial ingredients, it’s a snack that we feel good about as their parents.

With the hectic schedule of school, homework, and sports ahead of us, our schedule-free summer in our new house has been our best one yet. A little downtime does the body good. Part of being healthy involves feeling good about yourself and having fun. We are making the most of summer before school starts by to truly enjoying the spontaneous moments of life.

GoGo squeeZ

Providing healthy snacks and letting kids go outside to play all day gives them the opportunity to express themselves. Most of all, it helps exercise their imagination and creativity… which all kids are full of and just need the Be Time to show it!

GoGo squeeZ is also a lunch box must-have for back to school. Healthy snacking doesn’t stop after summer ends! We’ll be making sure our “kid fridge” is stocked all school year too:)
