Ingredients:
- White rice
- Cocoa powder
- Chocolate milk
- Butter
- Granulated sugar
- Dark chocolate chips
To accommodate various dietary preferences, you can make this with a milk base or choose a dairy-free alternative. Consider lactose-free or almond chocolate milk as alternatives.

Instructions:
To begin, bring the chocolate milk, rice, cocoa powder, sugar, and half of the butter to a simmer in a medium pan. Milk burns easily! Gently stir the mixture while it’s cooking to prevent it from burning. Usually, this takes about 20-25 minutes. If the mixture becomes too thick, add additional splashes of chocolate milk (or regular milk, if desired).

Next, remove the pan from the heat and add the chocolate chips and the remaining butter once the rice is cooked. Then, continue to fold the chocolate chips and butter into the mixture until everything is completely melted.

Finally, transfer the warm hot chocolate rice pudding to small cups or bowls and add your favorite toppings (like whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream!). Basically, anything you love can go on top!
Topping Ideas
- Whipped cream
- A scoop of ice cream
- Sprinkles
- Chocolate chips or chocolate shavings
- Chocolate syrup
- Caramel drizzle

This delightful treat merges the rich, velvety flavors with the creamy goodness of classic rice pudding, creating a dessert that’s impossible to resist. The recipe is a snap from start to finish, and you’ll certainly be asked for it!
