Peeps Houses are a fun Easter craft for kids! Learn how to make a Peeps house using vanilla wafers, sprinkles, and jelly beans. Time for some fun in the spring sun and Easter holiday preparation.
Peeps Houses
I can’t believe Easter is just around the corner. It seems like yesterday that we were decorating eggs. Likewise, it seems like Christmas was just yesterday (scary, right?). Something my kids look forward to most during the holidays is making gingerbread houses. It’s quite the tradition!

Pin It NowSupplies:
- Vanilla wafer cookies (18 wafers for 1 house)
- Vanilla CandiQuick or white candy melts
- Jelly beans
- Pastel Sprinkles
- Peeps
- Easter grass
- Candy eggs
- Microwave safe bowl
- Spoon
- Plastic sandwich baggie
- Scissors
Instead of using the traditional graham crackers as you would for a basic gingerbread house, how could we change things up for a Peeps House? The answer? Vanilla wafers!
We adorned the top of our Peeps Houses with jelly beans instead of gumdrops. We also decorated the front of the house with pastel sprinkles.
I’m not going to lie, I intended on using edible grass for the Peep to sit on, but I simply could not find it while shopping today. I do think it would be adorable, however, I am so happy with how the fake Easter grass turned out too!

How to Make a Peeps House
Peeps Houses
Supplies
- 18 Vanilla wafer cookies
- Vanilla CandiQuick
- Jelly beans
- Pastel Sprinkles
- Peeps
- Easter grass
- Candy eggs
Ingredients
- Microwave safe bowl
- Spoon
- Plastic sandwich baggie
- Scissors
Instructions
- Break apart the vanilla wafers. We used a total of 18 wafers for the Peeps House shown. 4 on each side, 4 in the back, and 6 on top of the roof.
- Melt the CandiQuick or candy melts according to the instructions on the package (usually using a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals).
- Put the melted candy into the corner of a sandwich baggie. This creates a homemade frosting bag for piping!
- Cut a tiny piece of the corner off of the plastic baggie.
- Pipe a little bit of melted chocolate along the edges of the vanilla wafers to build up the sides and back of the Peeps House. It is also a good idea to use melted chocolate to stick the Peeps House to the plate (optional).
- Assemble the roof by adding melted candy to the top of the house, then leaning wafers together, and finally adding more melted candies on top.
- Add jelly beans on the top of the Peeps House
- Decorate the front of the house with pastel sprinkles.
- Place Easter grass inside and a Peep on top!
Cute! You could use coconut flakes mixed with green food coloring for the grass!
