Lavender Laundry Sponges

Don’t you just love the comforting, clean, and relaxing smell of lavender? Lavender laundry sponges are reusable lavender scented fabric softeners. Just pop them in the dryer and your clothes come out soft and smelling lovely! Today’s DIY craft is not only fun to make, it will help you save money in your laundry room. This project will cost about $5.00 and we have lots of fabric softener left. I can’t wait to show you how to make these… (plus I have a free printable for you!)…

Excellent idea. I do my own fabric softener, but the sponges and plastic container is brillant. Open to more ideas.

  4. I own a lavender farm and am going to post this fun idea this weekend. I’ll put your link to this page! Super fun:)

  5. Kimberly says:

I wish the dollar store was open right now! I can’t wait to hit my local store first thing in the morning to try this in my laundry this weekend. Thank you!

  6. Jean M. vollman says:

I have done this for years the only difference is I cut my sponges into 4 squares and put every thing in a plastic jar. This works great.

  7. The plastic container looks like it was once a dishwasher pod that was used. It would save from buying one.

thank you so much for making these ideas freely available to all of us! God bless you!

  9. Where do you get lavender softner?

    • verb8mgrl says:

Downey has a lavendar and vanilla version that is my fav. It’s more expensive, but this DIY will definitely save some money.

  10. Bonnie Cantrell says:

I would love to see an all natural way to do this! I’m trying to stop using chemical fresheners!

    • Try adding a few drops of essential oils. You get the same amazing scent without the synthetics.

    • I’m going to tweak this idea by soaking rags in a solution of vinegar/essential oils. I’ll probably use lavendar for bedsheets and maybe something like vanilla or sweet orange for everything else.

      • For anyone interested, vinegar is a natural fabric softener. Works in the wash/ rinse as well as in the dryer =)

  11. Where did you find your container? I love it and can’t find one anywhere. We have a dollar tree but that’s it. Thanks!

  12. I’m going to give this a try using an old diaper wipe container!

  13. Such a great idea, I love the smell of lavender!
