Homemade Fabric Softener recipe using vinegar and conditioner! You’ll never buy fabric softener again after knowing how easy it is to make. For this tutorial, I made a wild cherry blossom fabric softener. You can pick any scent you like!

Homemade Fabric Softener
Here’s the biggest secret: you do not have to buy expensive conditioner for this DIY fabric softener. You can buy the super inexpensive kind that is about $2 for a large bottle. I like to make smaller batches so that I can switch up the fragrance depending on my mood or the season:)

Ingredients:
- water
- white vinegar
- conditioner
The wild cherry blossom conditioner I bought was less than $2 and the gallon of white vinegar was just a few dollars too. I got the glass pitcher from the dollar store. I like that I can simply pour the fabric softener into the washing machine.
Instructions:

You will use about about 2 tablespoons to an average size load of laundry (more or less depending on the size of the load). Or, add it to a Downey ball FOUND HERE

Note
This can be used in an HE washer! Simply add this homemade fabric softener to your washing machine like you normally would. Some machines have a drawer or compartment for fabric softener to be used.

Benefits of Fabric Softener
- Help remove buildup
- Remove sour/dirty smells
- Loosen some stains
- Brighten colors
- Lint repellant
- Reduce static cling
You could also get a sponge wet with the fabric softener (or make a wash cloth damp with it) and toss it into the dryer (called Laundry Sponges) The results will be the same!
