I do love a good classic bowl of spaghetti with marinara, but, I love to switch it up with a yummy cream sauce every now and then.  I used to be really intimidated by any dish that included making a cream sauce. It’s more simple than you think!

  • Chicken Breasts
  • All Purpose Flour
  • Salt and pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Olive Oil
  • Broccoli Florets
  • Pasta of choice
  • Butter
  • Garlic cloves
  • Heavy cream
  • Grated Parmesan cheese

Recipe Tip

The recipe calls for steamed broccoli but, this would be really great with some sauteed green and red bell peppers! Toss in some mushrooms or zucchini!

Chicken and Broccoli Pasta

Easy, Creamy, Garlicky, Chicken and Broccoli Pasta. This chicken and broccoli pasta is something you will want to add to the menu!

  • Pot for the pasta
  • Skillet for the chicken


For the Chicken

  • 2 Chicken breasts
  • ½ cup All-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 4 cups Broccoli Florets, steamed
  • 1 pound Pasta of choice

For the Sauce

  • ¾ cups Butter
  • 2 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 4 tablespoons All-purpose flour
  • 2 cups Heavy cream
  • 3 cups Freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • teaspoon salt


  • Cook the pasta according to the directions on the package.  Drain and set aside.

For the Chicken

  • In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
  • On a large plate mix together flour, salt, garlic powder, and pepper.  Dredge chicken breasts in flour mixture and shake off excess.
  • Place in hot oil and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side or until chicken is cooked through.
  • Remove from pan and place on a clean plate to rest.

For the Sauce

  • In a medium saucepan, heat butter over medium-high heat.
  • Add in garlic and saute for 30 seconds.
  • Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  • Pour in heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper.
  • Turn the heat down to low and stir until the cheese is melted and everything is heated through.

Combine the Chicken and Sauce

  • Toss pasta and cooked broccoli together.
  • Slice the chicken into thin pieces and place it over the pasta.
  • Generously pour sauce over and serve.
