Ingredients:

  1. Sugar cookie dough
  2. Vanilla frosting
  3. Shredded coconut or white sprinkles

Supplies:

  • Clear ornaments that can be assembled in halves. I found them at my local craft store (Hobby Lobby or Michaels). You also find a huge assortment online HERE
  • Small Christmas trinkets, like miniature ornaments, Christmas fondant cupcake toppers, etc. Also found at craft stores.
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Wax paper
  • Cup or something to cut the cookies to the size to match your clear ornament (sizes will vary)
Sugar Cookies

Instructions:

Press sugar cookie dough onto wax paper. Use the rim of a cup that is similar in size the the clear ornament toppers you have to use to create the sugar cookies. Keep in mind that premade dough will expand a little during baking.

Baking Sugar Cookies

Keep an eye on the sugar cookies as they bake because they burn very easily. In fact, I prefer to take the cookies out of the oven when the edges turn gold. The centers continue to cook on the hot cookie sheet.

Frost the cookies with vanilla/white frosting. Add miniature ornaments to the center of the cookies. Sprinkle shredded coconut over the trinkets and white frosting

Snow Globe Cookies

I find that miniature tree ornaments work GREAT! You can also use fondant cupcake toppers or a number of other things!

Tip

Just make sure the little ornaments are small enough to fit under the clear dome that goes on top.

The clear ornament I used is on the larger size, just as a reference. The size of your cookies will depend on the size of your ornaments. I LOVE food crafting! Let your creativity run wild and remember that no two Snow Globe Cookies are alike!

I displayed a few Snow Globe Cookies on a turning cake stand around the rest of my holiday table decor. Food that is both gorgeous looking and fun to eat is what the holiday season is all about. Give these snow globe cookies as gifts or make them with your kids and grandchildren. They will most certainly be the most popular at a Christmas cookie exchange party!

Equipment

  • Clear ornaments that can be assembled in halves. I found them at my local craft story (Hobby Lobby or Michaels).

Ingredients

  • Sugar cookie dough (premade is great)
  • Vanilla frosting
  • Shredded coconut or white sprinkles

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to temperature according to the sugar cookie dough you’re using (pre-made dough is usually 350℉)
  • Press sugar cookie dough onto wax paper. If the dough is cold, simply work the dough in your hands because it warms up quickly. Make the dough about 1/2″ thick.
  • Use the rim of a cup that is similar in size the the clear ornament toppers you have to use to create the sugar cookies. Keep in mind that the dough will expand during baking
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
  • Bake sugar cookies according to the cookie dough directions (about 10 minutes). Keep in mind that sugar cookies burn QUICKLY! I highly recommend removing them from the oven when the edges turn gold and allowing them to cool on the baking sheet.
  • Frost the cookies with vanilla/white frosting
  • Add miniature ornaments to the center of the cookies
  • Sprinkle shredded coconut over the trinkets and white frosting
  • Top with a clear ornament! The frosting will keep everything in place

  1. I’ve also found about a 2 1/2″ clear plastic dish that would work great. These would be great for person or class parties.
