What I love most about this Christmas craft is that the snow globes are made with little plastic bowls from the dollar store! They are just the perfect size and very clear, plus, who can beat that price?!

Supplies

Miniature tree ornaments can be found at most craft stores where miniature trees are sold. I got these at Hobby Lobby, but you can also get some here on Amazon. They just need to be small enough to fit under the plastic cup.

Snow globe made with a small plastic cup

Begin by tracing a circle using the plastic cup. With all of the online orders we tend to have this time of year, this is a great way to use the extra boxes!

Cardboard circle

When cutting the cardboard circle, just be sure to cut along the outside of the line to ensure that the circle is ever-so-slightly larger than the circumference of the bowl. If it is cut too small, then it won’t attach properly to the snow globe lid.

Miniature ornament

Then, hot glue one or two miniature ornaments in place on top of the circle. I love this little gingerbread girl ornament. Then, sprinkle fake snow around the ornament. Notice how I pushed the fake snow inwards so that there is room to glue the snow globe lid along the edge.

How to make a snow globe

After that, apply a layer of hot glue to the edge of the plastic bowl. Turn the bowl upside down and attach it to the cardboard circle. Now the snow can move around inside the globe without coming out!

In order to hide the cardboard edge (and any hot glue that can be seen) glue ribbon around the snow globe. I wrapped these gift boxes with a 4″ thick ribbon, but you can wrap your gift box however you want. Instead of a bow on top, hot glue the snow globe gift topper to the box.

Finally, I added a tiny bow to the front of the snow globe with hot glue. I just LOVE how they turned out! Each one you make will be so incredibly cute and will definitely put a smile on everyone’s faces!
