Tea Light Witches
Tea Light Witches are little witches made with green flameless tea lights and some simple craft supplies. They are very easy to make and look SO CUTE! Turn on the light and the flame becomes the witch’s glowing nose for nighttime Halloween decor. You’re going to love this…. (psst: They make cute DIY gifts too!).
Today I was at Wal-Mart (no shame in my game!) for some random odds and ends. Sunscreen for an upcoming vacation, window cleaner, etc. etc. etc. Suddenly, I found myself FULLY IMMERSED in the Halloween isles. I left with all of the craft supplies needed to make these witch tea lights! I love days like these…..
For this craft, you will need:
- Green flameless tea lights. I found these in the Halloween section at Wal-Mart, but you can also get similar ones here on Amazon.
- Googly eyes.
- Craft felt in black, purple, and yellow (1 sheet of each color and they are about 25 cents each).
- Glue gun (or tacky glue for kids)
- Black ribbon
- Purple and black craft rhinestones. They are inexpensive at craft stores or Wal-Mart.

Start by cutting out a witch hat in black craft foam. I just did it freehand (it’s so easy!). Next, glue the eyes to the candle.
After that, glue the hat to the top of the candle so that the hat hovers just above her eyes! Cut a thin strip of yellow felt and place it along her hat (glue in the back). Glue on a small yellow felt square over the yellow belt.
Finally, you’ll need to glue on the string so that the candle can be hung. I tied it at the top…
….and glued it to the back like so:
Finally, give her a wart! EWWW…. but so necessary, right?
Since the pack of candles I bought came in set of 4, I made both purple and black witch hats. The witches with the black hats got a purple wart and the witches with the purple hats got a black wart.
With the extra ribbon, you can hang the witch tea lights for nighttime Halloween decor. Or, place them in a small cellophane bag and hand them out as DIY Halloween gifts. So ADORABLE!
