Chili Dog Casserole
This is an easy 1 dish meal that’s loaded with your favorite chili dog flavors for a weeknight meal the whole family loves! Our Chili Dog Casserole recipe couldn’t be easier! It’s made with soft flour tortillas, chili with beans, and cheese… ohhh melty, ooey-gooey cheese baked to a golden brown bubble perfection. You can add all of your chili dog accents to make it OVER THE TOP.

When it comes to finding meals that my whole family loves, you really can’t go wrong with a casserole made out of our favorite foods. There’s nothing like throwing together an easy oven meal that I know my kiddos will devour.
Ingredients:
- Chili with beans
- Fajita-size flour tortillas
- Hot dogs
- Shredded cheese
Optional Ingredients
- Onions
- Peppers
- Avocado slices
- Shredded lettuce
- Salsa
- Corn chips (like Fritos)
If your kids like to help you cook in the kitchen, this is a perfect recipe for them to help with. My 10-year-old daughter made this dish today while I took photos. When kids cook, it’s an educational experience. Plus, they’re more likely to try new foods and ingredients when they are involved in the process. This recipe isn’t messy which makes it great for kids to help with.
Instructions:
Start by pouring 1 can of chili at the bottom of a 9×13 dish. Then, roll hot dogs in fajita-size flour tortillas. Place the rolled hot dog seam-side down in the dish. Pour the rest of the chili on top. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and the oven does the rest!
This recipe is wonderful for outdoor cookouts, and it can be made ahead. Chili Dog Casserole is the best Super Bowl main dish! There is no need to worry about chili dripping out of the bun onto your carpet and guests can easily help themselves.
Before placing this one-dish dinner into the oven, top it off with a generous amount of shredded cheddar cheese. Serve with your favorite chili toppings like diced onions, cilantro, tomatoes, hot sauce, and sliced avocado. To give it more of a crunch, top with some corn chips like Fritos.
This is a great casserole for making ahead of time and storing in the freezer. When you’re ready to use, continue with the recipe instructions, adding about 3-5 minutes to the first bake time to account for it being frozen. Make a garden salad or an Avocado Tomato Salad for a healthy, tasty side to balance out your meal.

Equipment
- Non-stick spray
- 9×13 baking dish
- Spoon for spreading chili
- Foil
Ingredients
- 2 cans chili with beans (any brand you prefer!)
- 9-10 fajita size flour tortillas
- 9-10 hot dogs
- 2 cups shredded cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°
- Prepare a baking dish with non-stick spray
- Put 1 can of chili in the bottom of the baking dish (spread evenly with a spoon)
- Wrap hot dogs in tortillas and place them seal side down in the dish
- Pour the second can of chili on top of the tortilla-wrapped hot dogs (spread evenly with a spoon)
- Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly on top
- Cover with foil
- Bake for 30 minutes
Wondering if you could make ahead of time, or should I not because of the tortillas? I don’t want them to get hard before baking.

Good question… I’ve never made it in advance but I think you could as long as the tortillas aren’t left in the refrigerator for too long (more than 1 day). I also think you could freeze the dish as long as you tightly cover it with plastic, then aluminum foil.
I ended up not making it ahead of time, but I will keep that in mind for the future. It will be out of the oven in 10 or less minutes, and I will pin my result on Pintrest. And good to kmow! I would only make ahead for supper later in the day, so that might work! Thank you so much.
