Make a Giant Carrot Centerpiece for your Easter table with an orange playground cone! “Plant” the carrot in a vase or jar filled with soil, and fill the carrot with Jelly Beans or Easter candy!
Giant Carrot Centerpiece
Head to the Dollar Store for the small playground cones, greenery, and candy needed for this craft. They also carry even smaller playground cones that would work perfectly too! To complete the centerpiece, consider placing the giant carrot centerpiece on a nice plate, surrounded by decorative beads, bunnies, or even more candy!

Pin It NowCarrot Centerpiece Supplies:
- Playground Cone – from the Dollar Store
- Green stem picks – from the Dollar Store
- Jelly Beans – Easter candy of choice
Other Supplies Needed
- Clear jar or vase
- Potting soil
- Shovel
- Optional: paper towels
Instructions:
The cone won’t stand up by itself when turned upside down. So, plant the carrot in a jar of soil to keep it upright! Begin by filling your jar of vase with soil. Fill the jar about 1/3 full with soil.
Remove the reflective tape from the cone. It’s very easy to do since these are inexpensive cones. Turn it upside down, to resemble a carrot, and place it in the jar. Continue to fill the jar with more soil around the carrot. Be sure to pack the soil in so that it secures the “carrot” in place.
Now it’s time for candy! What is Easter without candy? We used little jelly bean-like candies, but you can use chocolate or any candy you like.
Tip
You can stuff paper towels at the bottom when filling the cone with candy. This will reduce the amount of candy you will need!
