Polar Bear Paw Marshmallows

To make these tasty little winter treats, you will need jumbo marshmallows for the base. The large paw pad is made with a dark chocolate candy melt. The 3 smaller paw pads are dark chocolate chips. It’s important that the chocolate is all dark chocolate so that the colors coordinate. You will also need shaved coconut.

Ingredients for Polar Bear Paw Marshmallows

Start by cutting a jumbo sized marshmallow in half. Kitchen scissors will get this job done very easily. Pour some shaved coconut onto a plate. Next, dip the sticky side of the marshmallow halves into the shaved coconut. If the marshmallows are slightly misshapen, you can press it into a perfect circle shape at this time. The coconut shavings now look like white polar bear fur. The paws are starting to come together!

Now you’re going to take a handful of the dark chocolate melting wafers and place them in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave the chocolates in 30 second intervals. Place the melted chocolate into the corner of a plastic baggie. Cut the tip off of the plastic baggie and use the melting chocolate as glue. Place a small amount of the melted chocolate glue onto 3 chocolate chips and one chocolate wafer. The melted chocolate will eventually dry helping everything stick in place.

These adorable treats are perfect all winter long! Kids love making them and everyone loves eating them. They not only look adorable, they’re tasty too… especially for those of us who love chocolate and marshmallows.
